Empowering Women
Left Coast Women exists to empower, preserve, and uphold women writers, in particular playwrights, living on the West Coast of the United States of America.
- We believe that women writers must not be discouraged by gender- or race-based inequities in theatrical production or publication.
- We also believe that region of origin or residence should never be a dynamic in measuring the quality of one's art or the worlds to which it may travel.
- In essence, we believe that women writers should be motivated by all these factors to persist in artistic creation and to strive for excellence.
